Salary pay

  • Monday to Friday: £30.00 per hour (pro rata)

  • Saturday & Sunday: £32.50 per hour (pro rata)
     

Our Companions are paid fairly for the care and time they give, with full transparency and no hidden deductions.

 

Hours

You tell us when you’re available, and we’ll schedule visits around your hours.

We simply ask for:

  • A minimum of 6 hours per week, in blocks of at least 2 hours

  • A flexible and reliable attitude — we offer care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week


Perfect for those wanting meaningful work that fits around family or other commitments.



Holiday Pay

We pay 6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro rata).

Holiday pay is accrued based on your hours worked, giving you flexibility to choose how you use it:

  • Take time off for rest and family

  • Or bank it as a monetary allowance — ideal for Christmas, birthdays or special occasions


We believe everyone deserves time to recharge — and the freedom to choose how that looks.



Sick Pay

All Companions receive Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in accordance with government guidelines.
If you’re unwell, we’ll always support you and help ensure your clients are covered with minimal disruption.


 

Training & Development

We’re proud to invest in our team.

Every Companion receives:

  • Full induction and shadowing before working alone

  • Ongoing training in first aid, safeguarding, illness awareness, food hygiene and wellbeing care

  • Access to formal qualifications, including Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeships Level        2 & 3 through City College Norwich and/or Norfolk County Council

  • Regular opportunities for professional growth and learning
     

We want every Companion to feel confident, capable, and valued.


 

Uniform & Equipment - see below for images

  • Smart uniform provided - white logo t-shirt, navy blue trousers

  • Additional items available

  • Fully insured and DBS-checked as part of your employment

  • Mileage paid at £0.45 per mile beyond 2.5 miles of Buxton (client pays 50p)

  • Hovell Hall Companion branded ID badge and name lanyard

  • Discount card with Blue Light Scheme

     

Mental Health

  • Access to a qualified Mental Health First Aider in-house
